Adventure After 30

Terms & Conditions

Last updated: June 2026

Please read these Terms & Conditions carefully. They form a legally binding agreement between you and Adventure After 30 and set out the rules that apply to your use of our website, your bookings, and your participation in our trips. By using our services you agree to these Terms together with our Privacy Policy.

1. Introduction & Acceptance

These Terms govern your use of the Adventure After 30 website, any bookings made through us, host applications, reviews you submit, and emails you receive from us. By creating an account, joining a waitlist, or completing a booking, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

If a specific trip has its own booking confirmation or rider, that document and these Terms apply together. Where they conflict for that trip, the trip-specific document prevails for that booking only.

2. Definitions

  • “We”, “us”, “our”, “Adventure After 30” — the operator of this website and the curated group trips offered through it.
  • “Traveller”, “you” — any person who browses the site, creates an account, joins a waitlist, or books a trip.
  • “Host” — an independent trip leader or partner operator we work with to design and run trips.
  • “Trip” — a curated itinerary published on the site, with one or more scheduled Departures.
  • “Booking” — a confirmed reservation on a specific Departure of a Trip.

3. Eligibility

Our trips are designed for travellers in their 30s and beyond, but you do not need to be a specific age to join. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account and make a Booking. You confirm that the information you provide is accurate and that you are legally able to enter into this agreement.

4. Bookings & Payments

A Booking is confirmed once we receive your deposit and send a written confirmation. Some Trips offer an installment plan in which the balance is split into scheduled payments leading up to departure. The deposit, balance schedule, and final due date are shown at checkout and in your confirmation email.

All prices are shown in the currency listed on the Trip page and include the items described under “What’s included”. Items marked as not included (such as flights, visas, optional activities, and personal spending) are your responsibility.

Payments are processed by our payment provider. We do not store full card details. Failed or reversed payments may result in your Booking being cancelled.

5. Cancellations & Refunds

All deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable, regardless of the reason for cancellation, unless we state otherwise in writing at checkout for a specific Trip. Cancellation terms for the balance are specific to each Trip and are shown at checkout.

Deposits are used immediately to secure your place on a small-group Departure and cover upfront, non-recoverable costs we commit to on your behalf — accommodation holds, tour leader retainers, permits, activity operators, in-country supplier deposits, and administration. Because our groups are intentionally small, every unfilled spot is a direct cost we cannot recover.

What "non-refundable" means in practice:

  • No refund of the deposit if you cancel for any reason, including illness, injury, visa issues, work commitments, family emergencies, missed flights, or travel restrictions.
  • The deposit cannot be transferred to another person, another Trip, or a future Departure unless we agree in writing.
  • If you cancel after paying the balance, the balance portion follows the per-Trip cancellation schedule shown at checkout; the deposit itself remains non-refundable in all cases.

We strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance that covers trip cancellation, interruption, medical care, and repatriation, as personal cancellations are not refundable by us.

Initiating a chargeback for a validly-charged, non-refundable deposit is a breach of these Terms and will be contested with documentation.

If we cancel a Departure (for example because minimum numbers are not reached), we will offer you the choice of an alternative Departure, a credit toward a future Trip, or a refund of amounts you have paid to us for that Booking.

Joining a waitlist does not create a Booking and does not require payment until a spot is offered and you confirm it.

6. Changes to Trips

Trips operate in real-world conditions. Itineraries, accommodations, activities, and Hosts may change due to weather, safety, supplier availability, or other circumstances. We will do our best to provide a comparable experience and to communicate changes in advance.

7. Traveller Conduct

We expect travellers to behave respectfully toward Hosts, fellow travellers, local communities, and the environment. We may remove a traveller from a Trip without refund if their behaviour is unsafe, illegal, harassing, or seriously disruptive to the group.

8. Hosts & Third-Party Suppliers

Hosts, hotels, transport operators, and activity providers are independent third parties. We curate and coordinate, but we are not the operator of those services. We are not liable for loss or damage caused by a third-party supplier acting outside the scope of our arrangement with them, except as required by law.

9. Travel Insurance

Comprehensive travel insurance is mandatory for every Traveller. Your policy must cover medical expenses, emergency evacuation, trip cancellation, and any activities included in your Trip. You may be asked to provide proof of insurance before departure.

10. Health, Safety & Risk

Our Trips often include adventurous activities. By booking, you acknowledge that travel of this kind carries inherent risks and you accept those risks. You agree to disclose any medical conditions that may affect your ability to participate safely, and to follow reasonable instructions from your Host on the ground.

11. Intellectual Property & User Content

All content on the website — including text, images, itineraries, and branding — is owned by us or our licensors and may not be reused without permission. When you submit a review, photo, or other content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use it to promote our trips.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability to you in connection with a Trip is limited to the total amount you paid us for that Booking. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have that cannot be excluded under applicable consumer law.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Adventure After 30 is established. Any dispute will be handled in the courts of that jurisdiction, unless local consumer protection law gives you the right to bring a claim where you live.
